Dr. Donal O’Mahony BA BAI PhD FTCD is Fellow Emeritus at University of Dublin, Trinity College where he was Professor in Computer Science from 1984-2023. He is an active researcher and consultant with interests in Cryptography, Blockchain, Computer Networking & Security and in Susainability.
Dr. O’Mahony has written two books and authored over 100 papers in international journals and conferences.
He is a Fulbright Fellow having spent 1999 on sabbatical at Stanford University and was made a Fellow at Trinity College Dublin in 2000.
He has been active in the area of crypto-enabled payments since before the creation of Bitcoin and according to this infographic, he is 7th in a list of people who might be Satoshi Nakamoto – the ledgendary creator of Bitcoin.
